I do not even have the words to explain this couple.
But I will try.
Mackenzie and Henry are honestly the two happiest people I have ever met. About a year ago, they moved from Utah to Redwood City, California to be closer to doctors who know a little bit about lungs. Back story: a few days after Henry and Mackenzie married, Mackenzie was diagnosed with a terminal lung disease. She’s been so optimistic the whole way through. Though she still relies on an oxygen tank to breathe, the doctors have even been able to get her lung disease under control. I can’t do her story justice, so please, please check out her blog to read more of her story. You will not be disappointed.
When we picked them up from their gorgeous home in the hills of Redwood City, we just stared at their view. The house looks over the valley straight into the San Francisco bay. I’m pretty sure they can see the Golden Gate Bridge from their bedroom. (Don’t fact check me.) We drove through the hills to Half Moon Bay nursery where the owners were oh so kind to let us take photos while casual Mother’s Day shoppers picked out their flowers.
Brad and I had so much fun handing the camera back and forth and taking turns holding the step stool. There’s never a dull moment with Henry and Mackenzie. Plus, Half Moon Bay is gorgeous.
Side note: we’re running a special on couples mini shoot. 30 minutes. 20 images. $150. Click here for more information.
I hope you loved these photos as much as we did.
